The problem
Telecom cabinets sit where the network needs them, not where the climate is kind. A base station on a coastal headland sees salt fog, 90% humidity and 45 °C afternoons in the same week.
What we specify
For shelters we size a unit with 30% headroom over the calculated load, so a filter half-clogged with pollen still holds the setpoint. For RRU cabinets the constraint is usually depth, not capacity — the slim chassis variants fit a 300 mm cabinet.
Typical configuration
- CTACD7536WEP outdoor unit, IP55, 7 500 W
- Epoxy-coated coil for coastal sites
- Modbus RTU to the site controller
- Heated drain for sub-zero winters
Deployment notes
Mount the unit on the shaded side of the cabinet and leave 300 mm clearance for condenser airflow. Where that is impossible, specify the top-mounted variant instead of derating the side-mount.
